Garden Photography
Garden photography is about capturing your gardens and projects at their best and showing how your projects can transform a garden. I photograph gardens and garden design projects throughout Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London and the South East of England. I work with both private individuals and leading garden designers to showcase their designs, their planting, the important details and the process of transformati
Garden photography for professionals is an investment that will work well into the future for you as a designer or landscaper. I have been photographing the gardens of leading garden designers for over a decade. I’ve worked in both private gardens and I have also photographed show gardens at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Garden Photography – Gardens at their best
Photographing gardens is about creating realistic images that showcase the detail within a design, without sacrificing the wider feel of the garden. I work hard to ensure that I bring all the elements together, highlighting the craftsmanship, the planting and emphasising the flow and lines of sight within a garden. I bring a knowledge of planting and an enthusiasm for gardening that allows me to capture your gardens or projects at their best. Working with the right light, both day and night is crucial to getting the best results. While we flock to the garden in the bright sunlight, it is not always the right time to capture a garden at its best. More often than not, we look for bright overcast days to create the best images. I work from all available angles (creating a few of my own).
I make regular visits throughout the year and throughout the design/build process to show the development within the planting and how both structure and planting blend within the space over time. Hard landscaping can be captured at any time to show the quality of the workmanship but really comes into its own when it is softened by the planting.
I shoot with professional Canon DSLRs and professional grade optics. I supply high quality edited images for both web and print. Images are supplied on USB or can be hosted for download. I maintain secure backups of all images I create. I have full public liability insurance. I have a variety of tools to ensure that your garden or project is captured at its best. As well as creating high-quality still images, video is a valuable tool for giving added impact to a garden. Still images give us a sense of colour, texture and design but they do sometimes rob us of some of the sensory design elements such as the use of running water and sound.
Simple high-definition video can be a wonderful tool for bringing a garden to life. More often than not, video is finding its way onto client websites.
I can also employ time-lapse photography, 360-degree panned video and stitched panoramas. Panoramic stitching for larger sites, long borders and extreme wide-angle work. Drones allow us to capture a different perspective and show broader plans in relation to the properties. No two jobs are ever entirely the same and I’ll happily work to tailor my pricing to your specific project. You pay for my professional photography and standard editing. Additional editing, expenses and travel are charged at a lower rate. Where clients have several gardens they would like captured I’m happy to consolidate.
