Reportage photography, simply put, is a more photo-journalistic approach where I look to tell the story of your wedding through pictures. It tends to be more candid and unobtrusive.

More traditional or formal wedding photography is more about controlling the day and focusing on posed photographs. Couples more and more are asking for a less formal style of wedding photography. They want to spend less time away from their guests and more time enjoying their special day with family and friends.

Traditional wedding photography tends to break up the day into individual 'photo opportunities' and sometimes this approach can be a bit staccato.

I think a balance between the formal requirements on the day and working more candidly around the fringes with a longer lens is the way to go.

My job though is to ensure that I capture the feel of the wedding, the faces, the fun and the all-important details. It is about giving you what you want and I work to that end.

When you have bid your wedding guests 'Goodnight' I ensure you have a wonderful collection of memories to take away with you.

No two weddings are ever the same and I will work with you to tailor a package that works for you. Variations in the venue, the style of the photography, the size of the wedding all have to be taken into account. I work both solo and with an assistant depending on the scale of the event. Occasionally I’ll work with a second photographer, depending on your needs and the scale of the event.

I try to be as flexible as possible with my pricing so please do get in touch if you have specific requirements. If I can accommodate you I will.

There are no ‘hidden extras’ and I do not charge exorbitant print costs. You are paying for my time and skill in producing high-quality images of your day.

Preparation is everything. I offer a full and free consultation to all clients. It is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to see examples of my work.

I like to visit a location or venue in advance to see the layout and opportunities. It helps to see the venue with you to get a good idea of what you have planned. We can bounce ideas off each other and get an understanding of what the all important light will be doing and how the venue will be lit. It can also be useful to have your photographer at your rehearsals where posssible so they can get an idea of just how the service has been planned and work out what is possible.

I have captured wedding services in outdoor locations, churches, hotels and registry offices. Every venue is unique and each have their own rules and regulations, so it pays to be prepared.
